Cold – Patrick In Sunderland

I know, this post is a full week late.

I started of this morning going to where the tour bus picks up from. I waited a while in the freezing cold when the bus finally arrived. On the bus we went to a couple more stops then we drive for about two hours through the Irish countryside until we reached Kilkenny. The Irish countryside looks very similar to Kansas except more cows, sheep and, hills. Instead of getting of immediately getting off the bus in Kilkenny, I went to a cave. The cave was the site of a Viking massacre a long long time ago. It was really a fairly small cave. After the cave, I went back to Kilkenny and had lunch. I had a beef pie of some sort with a coffee and lemon meringue pie. It was delicious and like everything else in Ireland, expensive. Then I did a little bit of shopping. I found that my camera was going dead so, I found a dig store and bought since batteries. After leaving Kilkenny we went to the Wicklow mountains. Several movies have been filmed in these mountains including Braveheart and P.S. I Love You. There’s even a small town named Hollywood by the mountains. In the mountains it was really child and windy. I couldn’t fell my hands for a while. I really wish I had taken clothes warmer than my under armour hoodie and jeans. After we left the top of the mountains, we went down to a small town with hiking trails. By this time it started to sprinkle. I decided to suck it up and walk to the upper lake, 25 minutes away. Big mistake, five minutes into my walk the light rain turned into a down pour and hail mix. I walked back to the small town and bought a cappuccino at the hotel bar. I was drenched and cold the rest of the evening as the bus heater wasn’t working great and, it was still a two hour ride back to my hostel. As son as I could I put on dry clothes and climbed into my bed shivering. I was hungry but, I didn’t want to leave my bed. I forced myself out and had the worst taboo fries I have ever had. I think the Irish need to learn how Mexican food is really made. Here’s some pictures:
